  • First applied to submarine sonar signals to identify complex data patterns so operators could  recognize threatening aspects of a signal.
  • For General Motors, LANL physicists integrated it into a “smart” and adaptive antilock breaking systems. “Learning” in real time, the system detected anomalies and road conditions during a panic stop to prevent spinning or flipping.
  • Citibank and Mastercard, losing billions during the Latin America debt crisis, used the technology to gain new financial data insights. For Citibank, it uncovered more than $200 million in hidden risk.
